I grew up with extremely bad acne. I remember it like it was just yesterday. One day, during high school, I got some strange bump on my face. I didn’t think anything of it, so I popped it and went on with my life. All of a sudden, more and more bumps began to form. Before I knew it, my face was as oily as a pizza (it was the same color and texture too: red, greasy, creamy, but NOT tasty).
I started freaking out because this was HIGH SCHOOL! Kids are relentless at this age. They will tease you over the stupidest things. So, I quickly tried every single type of cream or solution I could get my hands on. Soon, my face was drying out and acting out in strange ways due to so many different weird chemicals I was applying to it.
My life was over. I felt like the only that was suffering with acne. Sure, there were other kids with it, but their acne was so mild it was barely noticeable. Mine was an absolute disaster. My face was a train wreck. It was something you couldn’t help but stare at. And not in a good way. No one was admiring my face. They were staring because they didn’t know better. Most of them probably didn’t even know they were staring.
Worst of all, I was already developing acne scars. That’s right, I was getting scarred while getting acne. So I knew this was permanent. I knew this wasn’t going to be a temporary phase that I would just have to push through. I would have to deal with this issue for the rest of my life.
Never again would I be able to go a day without having to dab my face with a napkin. Never again would I be able to confidently smile and pose for a picture. Never again would I have the confidence I once had before the acne came.
Or so I thought. I found out a few simple solutions that improved my skin drastically.
1 Quick Tip That I Learned: You may believe that it’s important to wash your face everyday, but did you know that washing it too much can cause you to break out? There are essential oils that your skin naturally produces. If you’re constantly scrubbing and washing these oils away, your skin will dry out and cause you to break out. You heard me right. I’m telling you NOT to wash your face. You need to wash your face, just don’t overdo it. That was one of my problems. You’ll notice a difference very soon.
